statement

an aside...
like many artists, the task of composing a statement about my work is a tremendous challenge. challenging in that one must translate the visual into that which it ultimately transcends without compromising the integrity of the message.


with this statement, i do not attempt so much to pinpoint an exact translation of the images that follow, but rather loosely describe a context in which to view them.

a-pol-o-gy n.

  1. a formal defense of some idea, doctrine, etc.
  2. an expression of regret for a fault, insult, etc.
  3. an inferior or bad example of something (humorous).


an-thro-a-pol-o-gy n.

  1. a formal defense or justification of the characteristics, customs, etc, of man, humans, humanity.
  2. an expression of regret for the faults, insults, etc. of the characteristics, customs, etc. of man, humans, humanity.
  3. an inferior or bad example of mankind (humorous?).
